Overview: Asheville Bear Creek RV Park

Bear Creek RV Park, Asheville, is the property marketed by its operator as Asheville Bear Creek RV Park & Campground. Use the operator’s website to check facilities and booking requirements rather than assuming that similarly named campgrounds are the same business.

Bear Creek campground Asheville NC: what the park says about itself

The park’s amenities page describes “100+ level, paved sites with full hookups” and says the park is open year-round. The Explore Asheville listing, published by the local visitor bureau, describes “100 RV sites with full hookups including cable TV and heated pool” and “shady sites with views of mountains” in a location “convenient to Asheville, Biltmore and other local attractions.” The two descriptions differ slightly in the site count and in how they word the pool, so treat the numbers as approximate and confirm them with the park.

Bear Creek campground Asheville North Carolina: an RV-only park

The park’s rates and reservations page states “No tent sites available” and says the park offers full-hookup RV sites only, with electric, water and sewer connections. Tent campers should look at other options in the area, listed in the nearby campgrounds section below.

Sites and facilities

The park’s website gives the following details for the sites:

  • 25 pull-through sites measuring 25 feet by 60 feet.
  • 65 back-in sites measuring 25 feet by 50 feet.
  • Big rig sites are also mentioned.
  • Paved, level sites with “full 30 and 50 amp hookups,” plus water and sewer.

On facilities, the amenities page lists complimentary cable TV and Wi-Fi, three bathhouses, two laundromats, a large playground, designated dog walk areas and a clubhouse that it says is free for rally groups. The park also lists a seasonal outdoor pool, covered in the next section.

Bear Creek RV park in Asheville North Carolina: on-site vacation rentals

For visitors without an RV, the park’s vacation rentals page lists four rentals, named Bear-a-Dise Found, Bear Way to Heaven, Mountain Chalet and Bear Me the Necessities. The page says these must be booked through 828 Bear Creek Rentals, which it calls a sister company. Details such as bedrooms and amenities are on that page, and they vary by unit.

Season and reservations

The park’s website says it is open year-round for nightly stays. Several seasonal points come from the park itself:

  • Swimming pool: the amenities page says “Open May 15 – Sept. 15.”
  • Check-in is at 12:00 pm and check-out at 11:00 am, according to the park’s amenities page.
  • Reservations: the rates and reservations page says “Reservations recommended, especially for holidays, and in July & October.”

On how to book, the park’s reservations page offers an online request form and a phone number, and states that a request does not guarantee a reservation: the office contacts the guest, and payment is made by phone to finalize the booking. The same page describes a deposit, a cancellation charge and a card service charge. Because those amounts and policies can change, this guide does not repeat them. Read the current terms on the park’s rates and reservations page.

The park’s homepage states that arrivals after 10:00 pm are not permitted, even with a reservation. Its reservations page also provides instructions for late arrivals without specifying a cutoff in that section. Confirm your arrival time and check-in procedure with the office before traveling. Monthly stays are subject to availability and seasonal terms; ask the park directly.

Getting there and location

The park lists a South Bear Creek Road address in the 28806 ZIP code, on the west side of Asheville (see the directory listing for the map). Its website states “Easy Access to I-40, I-240 & I-26,” and the Explore Asheville listing places it near Asheville and Biltmore. Neither source gives driving times, so check a current map for your route and rig clearances before you travel.
