Maggie Valley campgrounds: what the town’s tourism office lists

The official Maggie Valley tourism site (maggievalley.org) describes the town as situated in North Carolina’s Great Smoky Mountains. Its page on Maggie Valley campgrounds and RV resorts lists these properties, with the description each one gives:

  • Cross Creek RV: “115 sites. 50 amp hook ups, city water/sewer, WiFi, Cable.”
  • Hillbilly Campground & Maggie Country Store: “30 Sites, Full Hook-ups, Tents, Laundry, Pay Telephone, Showers, General Store.”
  • Stonebridge RV Resort: “190 Sites, Full Hook-ups, Creek side, Tents, Laundry, Game room, Dining Hall, Swimming Pool.”
  • Pride RV Resort and Family Campground: “200 Full Hook ups. Tent Camping. Cabins, park models and campers for rent.”
  • Rippling Waters Creekside RV Park: “36 Sites, Full Hook-ups,” listed as open year round.
  • Smoky View Cottages & RV Resort: “25 units,” listed as year-round.
  • Twinbrook Resort and RV Park: “5 sites,” all units creek side, open year round.
  • Lake Junaluska Campground: “80 Spacious full hook-up RV sites,” a separate shaded tent area, and cabin or apartment options.

Counts and wording come from the tourism page and may differ from a campground’s own site. For example, Stonebridge’s own website says “over 260” RV and campsites, while the tourism page says 190. Both figures are cited here and not merged, so ask the campground which one is current.

  • 27 campsites.
  • Drinking water and flush toilets, with no showers and no electric, water or sewer hookups.
  • Motorhomes over 29 feet and trailers over 25 feet are “not recommended” because of the access road, which includes a 3-mile gravel section with narrow, blind curves.
  • Food and scented items must be kept in a sealed vehicle or solid-sided camping unit at all times when not in use because of bear activity.
  • Generators may run only from 8 AM to 8 PM.
  • Pets must be leashed at all times and cannot be left unattended or taken on trails.
  • Only heat-treated, certified firewood is allowed, or you may collect dead and down wood in the park.

The National Park Service frontcountry camping page directs visitors to Recreation.gov for reservations. Before booking Cataloochee, check the current campground schedule, road access and availability. For the wider park, see our Smoky Mountain National Park camping guide.
