About WNC Campgrounds
Effective September 29, 2026
WNC Campgrounds is building the most complete, useful guide to camping in Western North Carolina — every kind of campground, from Forest Service loops on trout streams to full-hookup RV parks near Asheville and the high campgrounds of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
What you will find here
- A searchable directory of campgrounds, filterable by town, region, camping type, hookups, amenities and setting.
- Town and region pages that bring together the campgrounds in each part of the mountains.
- The trails, waterfalls and attractions near every campground, linked to their full guides on WNC Trails.
- Camping guides and a calendar of camping and outdoor events.
Where our information comes from
Listings start from public sources and from the WNC Trails directory, then are checked and enriched over time. Each listing shows when its details were last verified, and owners can claim their listing to keep business details current. Closures and conditions come from official sources such as the National Park Service, the U.S. Forest Service and NC State Parks.
How we make money
Standard listings are free. Campgrounds and outdoor businesses can buy advertising — featured listings, sponsorships and event promotion. Paid placements are always labeled and reviewed, and they never buy an editorial recommendation.
Part of the WNC Trails network
WNC Campgrounds is a sibling of WNC Trails, the trail and waterfall guide for Western North Carolina. Together they connect where to stay with where to hike.
